Los Angeles Lakers: Breaking down the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League roster
Lonzo Ball; Point Guard
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft will have a lot of eyes on him during the Summer League. It will be his first taste of NBA action, and expectations are high; Magic Johnson has already referred to him as the face of the franchise.
There is no denying the talent that Ball has. His passing skills are on another level, as his court vision is rivaled by few players. Standing 6-feet-5 inches tall, Ball can see the court well and is a willing distributor. He is a great ball-handler and his teammates should love playing with him.
Ball also has range on his three-point shot. His form is unorthodox, but it worked while at UCLA. There are some concerns it may not translate to the NBA, but we will see as time goes.
Ball is very exciting to watch whenever he is on the court. The Summer League will present him a chance to showcase those skills in a setting that he should thrive in. Summer League games are, at times, glorified pick-up games. With his passing skills and star appeal, Ball should be one of the biggest draws in the summer league this summer.
How many times will we hear from his father, LaVar Ball, while in Las Vegas? You can be sure that we will hear from him when Lonzo gets on the court.
