LAS VEGAS, NV – JULY 08: David Nwaba /

In the first game of the Summer League, it was the Brandon Ingram show for the Lakers. As a second-year player, Ingram was able to show that he has come a long way since his rookie season, and he could be a much-improved player for the Lakers this coming season. However, Ingram’s cramp at the end of the game against the Clippers resulted in his Summer League coming to an end. However, it did give David Nwaba and opportunity for more minutes against the Celtics.

It came as a bit of a surprise in the Lakers’ loss to the Clippers that second-year player David Nwaba only got to see the court for 13 minutes. As a second-year player, Nwaba doesn’t need the Summer League as much as some rookies, but he is a player that still is developing as well.

After being a non-factor against the Clippers, Nwaba had a good game against the Celtics. After being moved into the starting lineup, Nwaba totaled 36 minutes, 13 points on six-for-nine shooting and eight rebounds. One of the things that Nwaba has to improve is his free throw shooting. The one-for-five from the charity stripe simply won’t cut it moving forward.

With Ingram and Josh Hart both out against the Kings, Nwaba will likely see another 30+ minutes of action.
