Ivica Zubac
Coming into the Summer League, there were a few players that fans had their eyes on of the returning players. As second-year pros, Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac were two of those players.
After a nice rookie season, many expected Zubac to be a dominant force in the Summer League for the Lakers. However, that wasn’t the case to start in Las Vegas. In their first game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Zubac was a non-factor with just five points and four rebounds. In the following game against the Celtics, Zubac totaled seven points and two rebounds, as he struggled once again.
Even against the Kings without Ball, Kuzma, and Josh Hart, Zubac was still a non-factor. After three consecutive poor showings, we finally saw Zubac play better against the 76ers. In the win, Zubac totaled 21 points on seven-for-11 shooting. As the beneficiary of some nice passes from Ball, Zubac was able to finish around the rim nicely in the win. Zubac did only total three rebounds, however, the scoring was a needed boost for the Lakers.
If the Lakers want to advance in the Summer League, Zubac has to play up to his capabilities. Hopefully, the game against the 76ers will be a confidence booster for Zubac.
