No. 2 overall pick, Lonzo Ball

In just a small sample size, Lonzo Ball has already showcased his gifted ability to pass the ball and make the game easier for his teammates.

Through four Summer League games Lonzo has averaged 17 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.8 assists, and the 19-year-old is the league leader in assists and steals. More impressive than his overall stats, Ball posted two triple doubles through his first four games and showed the ability to take over games and score at will.

So far teammates have been raving about Lonzo’s game and how much he creates for them. In an interview with ESPN, Luke Walton even pointed out that Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. are pumped to play with their new point guard.

Having Ball on the floor with players already used to the NBA will increase his effectiveness. There have been some dimes from Lonzo that his teammates in Summer League couldn’t handle or couldn’t finish but once he’s targeting Clarkson, Nance Jr. or Julius Randle, the outcome will be a bucket more consistently.

Lonzo has already proven to be an elite distributor and just having him on the floor will make the Lakers better. His presence will allow all players to do what they do best with ease and his quick outlet passing will create early offense for Los Angeles in transition, something the better teams in the league are great at.
