Caleb Swanigan

The story of Caleb Swanigan’s path to the NBA is one that everyone can appreciate. He had a tough childhood bouncing around foster homes and battling obesity. But, Swanigan worked through his problems and turned himself into a top-flight recruit. He has not stopped working, as he was selected by the Trail Blazers as the 26th overall pick.

Swanigan looks like he has not stopped working on his craft, as he has played very well in Las Vegas. Swanigan is the Trail Blazers’ leading scorer, averaging 14.9 points per game. He has showcased his whole arsenal offensively. Swanigan can hurt you on the block posting up or on the perimeter with a three-point shot.

Arguably more impressive than his scoring is the presence Swanigan has had on the glass. Swanigan is averaging 10.4 rebounds per game, which leads Las Vegas.

The Lakers are going to have their hands full with the versatile Swanigan. Not only will he be tough to slow down offensively, but finding a way to keep him off the glass will be tough, too. Swanigan is the focal point of the Trail Blazers attack, so the Lakers need to find a way to limit him as much as possible.
