– Consistently improved
While there has been a lot of debate about whether or not the one and done rule is good for college players, there is no denying that a player can improve if they stay in college. With a great coaching staff and program at Villanova, Hart was one of those players that consistently improved as a player each year.
In his freshman season, Hart played in just over 20 minutes per game. He showed that he was going to be a good player, as he averaged 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. In his sophomore season, Hart received more opportunities on the court, as he played 25 minutes per game. He saw his scoring, rebounding, and assist averages go up from his freshman season in a few more minutes of action per game.
Hart really burst onto the scene in his junior season with the Wildcats. In his third season, Hart averaged 15.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. On the National Champions, Hart was a key contributor as one of their best scorers and rebounders.
In his final season, Hart was the best player on the Wildcats. That season, he averaged 18.7 points per game and went on to win the Big East Player of the Year award. For Hart, it was certainly a good end to a fantastic college career.
