Lakers All-Time Starting Five Shooting Guard: Kobe Bryant

The starting shooting guard for the Lakers All-Time team was the easiest one to select. It was a no brainer that the shooting guard would be Kobe Bryant.

Bryant is arguably the greatest Laker of All-Time. According to Basketball Reference, he has the highest win share in Lakers history with 172.7; the next closest is Jerry West at 162.6. That is what happens when you play an entire 20-year career with one franchise and produce pretty much right up until the end.

Bryant is on virtually any top-10 Lakers list for career statistics. Many of them, he is the leader of. Bryant is the all-time leader in games played, minutes played, field goals, field goal attempts, two-point field goal attempts and makes, three-point field goal attempts and makes, field goals missed, free throws made and missed, turnovers, fouls, points scored, and usage rate.

Bryant is one of the most dominant players that has ever played in the NBA. He had a killer instinct that not many people possess as he worked tirelessly to match the greatness that was Michael Jordan.

In addition to leading the Lakers in all of those categories, he has taken home a number of awards. He has been to 18 All-Star games, named MVP once and twice took home MVP of the NBA Finals. Those are accolades most people can only dream of achieving.
