Kyle Kuzma

A large portion of the attention this summer given to rookie Lonzo Ball, and rightfully so. He was the No. 2 overall pick out of UCLA and dubbed the face of the franchise for the Lakers. However, he was not the only rookie selected by the Lakers, as Kyle Kuzma has begun making a name for himself as well.

Kuzma dominated the Las Vegas Summer League, winning the MVP award for the championship game out of nowhere. He carried that momentum over into the preseason, where he averaged 17.3 points per game. The regular season is now upon us, and Kuzma is still getting buckets.

Kuzma has provided a scoring punch for the Lakers frontcourt with the second unit. Against the Pelicans Kuzma came off the bench and scored a career-high 20 points; the first and certainly not last time he will hit the 20-point plateau.

Kuzma has quickly taken over a scoring role with the Lakers second unit with his diverse offensive game. He plays with a ton of energy and is always hustling. In addition to the 20 points, he also pulled down six rebounds to go with two assists and one steal.
