Recently, Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat took a shot at Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball on Twitter with a tough matchup coming against John Wall.
The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a 1-2 start on the season. Despite being below .500, it is clear that the Lakers are going to be an exciting team this season. In their last game, the Lakers were trailing by over 20 points but were able to rally from behind to make a game of it.
Even though the Lakers couldn’t hold on against the New Orleans Pelicans in that game, the effort put forth by the Lakers showed a lot of heart. One of the reasons why the Lakers are a better team this season is because of their starting point guard.
Lonzo Ball is one of the most talked about players in the NBA, and despite some writing him off as a bust after his first game, Ball has come back and put together two strong outings against the Phoenix Suns and Pelicans.
As we saw in the Las Vegas Summer League, Ball has the potential to get a triple-double nearly every night. He is proving to be an excellent rebounder in the NBA, and he has no problems dishing out passes to teammates. Even though he hasn’t shot the ball well, Lonzo is able to get to the rim and finish.
Recently, Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat responded to a tweet about LaVar Ball saying that the Lakers will beat the Wizards in their next game.

The matchup against Wall will certainly be a challenging one for Ball. Wall is one of the best all-around point guards in the NBA and he surely won’t want Ball to have a good game against. However, Ball has faced some pretty good point guards early on in Patrick Beverley, Jrue Holliday, and Eric Bledsoe. Even though they aren’t the caliber of Wall, Ball should be prepared for this showdown.

It will be interesting to see what Ball can do matched up with Wall. Even though there is no denying Wall’s greatness, Ball is looking to continue to prove himself as a good player in his rookie season.
