Bradley Beal vs. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Another appealing matchup for the game on Wednesday night will be at the shooting guard position. In the Lakers’ loss to the Pelicans, we got to see the debut of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Since Caldwell-Pope was suspended for the first two games of the season, he was finally able to get out on the court for the first time with his new teammates.
In the loss, Caldwell-Pope was certainly a bright spot for the Lakers. He was able to total 20 points on an impressive 7-for-11 shooting from the field. With the Detroit Pistons, Caldwell-Pope was able to establish the reputation of being one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. On Wednesday, Caldwell-Pope will be facing a tough challenge when he squares off against Bradley Beal
While John Wall might get more attention nationally than Beal, there is no denying that he is one of the most talented shooting guards in the league. So far this season, Beal is averaging over 20 points per game, as he and Wall try to establish themselves as the top backcourt in the NBA. Even though Beal will likely outscore Caldwell-Pope, it will be important for him to at least slow Beal down. If Beal is inefficient from the floor, that would certainly help the Lakers try to escape with a win.
