Los Angeles Lakers lose to Toronto Raptors: 3 Takeaways
By Nick Ziegler
Bench plays well
One of the biggest takeaways for the Lakers so far this season has been the play of their bench. This unit certainly has the talent to be one of the best in the NBA, as Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, and Kyle Kuzma are talented players.
In the loss, Luke Walton relied heavily on his bench once again. Seeing the bench players play extended minutes in games isn’t something new. Kyle Kuzma was able to lead the way for the Lakers, as he totaled his first double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. While Kuzma did turn the ball over four times, it was a great game for the Lakers rookie.
In addition to Kuzma, Julius Randle played very well once again. Randle was able to total 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting in 24 minutes. It was also great to see a little more of Josh Hart in this game for the Lakers. Hart was able to play 20 minutes in the loss, and he totaled nine points, four rebounds, two steals, and one block.

It is very clear that Walton is not afraid to use his bench when he sees fit, as some players played more than the starters did against the Raptors.
