Three-Point Shooting

Coming into the Nets game, the Lakers’ number one priority was perimeter shooting. After shooting terribly from deep against the Blazers, it was necessary for the team to bounce back with confidence in their shots. Unlike their 0/9 start from the three in the Blazers’ game, the Lakers came out shooting efficiently and finished 3/7 from long distance in the first half. Moreover, the Lakers had many individual standouts in their hot shooting from deep as three players made up for all of their made threes.

Brook Lopez was struggling as he was only making 26.7 percent of his threes prior to the Nets game. It was an even bigger concern as he had his best scoring game of the season previously against the Blazers but only shot 1/4 from deep. Against the Nets, however, Lopez shot 6/9 from long distance for the game and torched the Nets in the third quarter as he went 4/5 from three-point territory.

Brandon Ingram had also been struggling from distance as he came into the game shooting 31.3 percent from deep. Instead, he finished the night strong as he connected on both of his three-point attempts for the game. Overall, the Lakers improved as they rebounded from yesterday’s 22.2 percent three-point shooting to 42.9 percent three-point shooting against the Nets.
