Turnovers

Coming into the game the Lakers ranked second in turnovers in the league with 18.4 per game. Although this is the scenario for many young teams, as evident by the Philadelphia Sixers leading the category, the trials must be solved.

The Lakers have now had at least 15 turnovers in 11 of their 13 games. Moreover, the team has yet to have a single-digit turnover game. Holding onto the ball would continue to be a problem for the team as they finished with 21 turnovers last night. This matched the season-high total and was the fourth time the team has done so.

While the team did not manage to control their possessions, their mistakes did not hurt them as much as they only gave up eight fastbreak points compared to their season average of 11.3. Everything considered, however, the Lakers will have to find a way to cut down their turnovers – especially if they hope to win.
