What’s Next for Lonzo?

Besides the great scoring outburst in Phoenix and the recent triple-double against Milwaukee, Lonzo Ball has not done much as a rookie.

There is no excuse as a Laker to fail. The people of Los Angeles have been waiting for the next superstar to take them to the promised land. Many, including myself, have put that weight on Ball’s shoulders.

I have been disappointed. I don’t know if Ball is the next Jason Kidd or Sebastian Telfair (remember him?), and that is not a good thing. He has the abilities to make his teammates better, but he cannot fail to make his fans and city proud.

Ball still has plenty of games to turn things around. The Lakers are currently 6-8, but they have won against increasingly tough competition along with chemistry issues included.

However, one thing is for sure: he has failed to live up to his hype. It is not healthy and satisfactory for his dad, his brand, the city of Los Angeles, and his legacy. Will Ball be the savior of Los Angeles? Or will he end up as the over-hyped prospect with a loudmouth, nonsense father? Only time will tell.
