– Ball shines at MSG

One of the storylines heading into Tuesday’s game was this being Lonzo Ball’s first game as a pro in MSG. As we have seen in the past, players tend to rise to the occasion of playing in MSG. With the stars always watching, it certainly elevates the level of play from visiting players.

Even though there have been some ups and down for Ball early on in his rookie season, he clearly came to play on Tuesday night. With dad and brothers watching courtside near Spike Lee and other celebrities, Ball was able to have another strong game on the road.

In the loss, Ball totaled 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block, and just one turnover. On the road trip, Ball has been playing well, as he has only totaled three turnovers in three games. Limiting mistakes has helped the Lakers play some of their best basketball recently that we have seen all season.

With Ball, all eyes are always on how well he shoots the basketball. Against the Knicks, Ball looked very comfortable shooting the basketball, as he went 6-for-13 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Even though he would have liked to get a win, Ball played a very good game and certainly opened some eyes on a big stage.
