A Big(s) Game
Although the rookie guards were anticipated to be the focus of the game, it was the bigs who took over – at least for the Lakers. Luke Walton decided to stay with his new starting lineup which includes a frontcourt of Brook Lopez and Julius Randle. To his satisfaction, the two dominated the game.
Julius Randle finished the night with 22 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 61.5 percent from the floor. He also expanded his game by adding six assists and knocking down a triple. This was Randle’s second-best, if not best game of the season.
Brook Lopez also played great and ended the game with 18 points on 66.7 percent shooting. The big man struggled to grab rebounds – he only had three – but that was also due to the fact that he played from the perimeter for a majority of the game. Lopez added in a team-high five triples and shot 62.5 percent from deep.
