Talent
Many basketball fans are already familiar with this aspect of the build of DeMarcus Cousins. No one has had any issues in considering DeMarcus as a talented basketball player.
Cousins is the perfect partner-in-crime with superstar Anthony Davis. Although many executives would shy away from the twin-tower foundation, the Pelicans have invited the dual big man culture.
At 6’11”, Cousins creates mismatches for smaller power forwards who are defending him. His quickness gives him an edge over other centers. DeMarcus’ gargantuan volume and length mixed in with his athleticism should not develop a superstar talent such as he.
Cousins also has a complete arsenal of tools to use on the offensive end. At this point, he averages 25.3 points, 12.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and has a combined 3.2 steals and blocks per game. The only players to do that in NBA history are three Lakers in Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, and Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, as well as Charles Barkley and Oscar Robertson.
An MVP-dark horse needs to play with Los Angeles. For now, he remains the best center in the league. Magic wanted a superstar. Cousins is the definition of one such.
