Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Possible trade destinations for Julius Randle
By Nick Ziegler
– Brooklyn Nets
Even though the Nets are not going to be a playoff team this season, they do have their eye toward the future. They might not be buyers in the traditional sense, but they are a team that wants to improve with young players.
After the disastrous trade that happened with Boston a few years, the Nets have had a tough time rebuilding without their draft picks. Instead of getting talented young players in the draft, those picks are instead still mostly in Boston now.
The Nets have had to be creative with their rebuild, and we have seen them take on bad contracts in order to acquire young talent. This past offseason, the Nets took back the poor contract of Timofey Mozgov in order to get D’Angelo Russell. Depending on the price, the Nets might be interested in trying to acquire a young player like Randle.
Randle is still just 23-years-old as he heads toward being a restricted free agent this offseason. Acquiring young talent is not an easy thing to do in the NBA. However, the Nets might be willing to part with a draft pick if it means getting a player like Randle. As the rebuild continues in Brooklyn, adding a player like Randle would certainly improve the team.
