No. 4: Miami Heat

There is a reunion going on in South Beach, as Luke Babbitt was brought back to the Heat. The Heat acquired Babbitt from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Okaro White. That is not the only reunion that will be going on with the Heat, as they also brought back franchise icon, Dwyane Wade.

Wade was acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers for a heavily protected 2024 second round pick. It was a goodwill move by the Cavaliers, who revamped their roster at the trade deadline. Wade looked like he would be an odd man out, and the Cavaliers sent him back to Miami.

Wade will provide Miami with much-needed stability in the backcourt, where an injury to Dion Waiters has set them back. Since he left, bringing Wade off the bench is easier done now, as he should fit in well with Miami’s second unit.

As for Babbitt, he will help fill the void left by Kelly Olynyk’s injury. While not as versatile a defender as Olynyk, Babbitt will provide floor-spacing, as he is knocking down 44 percent of his 3-point attempts this season.

The Heat is in a battle for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and both homecomings will help them get there.
