Comments to the Media

Isaiah has become known for interesting and dividing post-game comments to the media members that come to his locker. He had a few moments in Cleveland, including when he claimed the Celtics played better team defense.

He definitely kept those comments at a minimum in his short time with the Lakers this season, but that doesn’t mean they won’t come back in the 2018-19 season if the Lakers sign him. Also, keeping Isaiah and his potentially detrimental comments could deter other free agents that the Lakers are trying to sign in the two years like Paul George, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and Klay Thompson. If the Lakers sense in meetings with George and LeBron that those comments would even slightly affect their decision to come to L.A., then the team should pass on Isaiah.
