March 3rd – Lakers @ Spurs (W, 116-112)

18 points (6/10 on 3-pointers), 11 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal

This is probably Lonzo’s most notable game of the season, but it is not his best overall individual game. The Spurs were up 91-80 going into the 4th quarter, but the Lakers slowly made a comeback much to the credit of Lonzo Ball.

The rookie had a personal season-best six 3-pointers, including three in the final three minutes to help the Lakers seal the comeback victory. Gregg Popovich praised Lonzo after the game.

"“Ball was amazing. He just got them back in the game and in the same period we didn’t make shots.”"

LaMarcus Aldridge actually didn’t play in the game, but the Lakers didn’t have Brandon Ingram either. Julius Randle and Isaiah Thomas also stepped up in Ingram’s absence, but it was very nice to see Lonzo step up.

It was especially nice to see him perform well with his 3-point shot in addition to his rebounding and dishing out assists, as he notably struggled throughout the season with his shot. This game was a part of a good shooting stretch for Lonzo as he came back from injury from a 14-game absence on Feb. 23. Sadly, the shooting woes started up again two games later and lasted until his last game on March 28th, but let’s not talk about that.
