Caleb Martin
Caleb Martin, along with his twin brother Cody Martin and teammate Jordan Caroline, declared for the draft in April. Caleb did not hire an agent, so he can return to Nevada if he chooses to. Martin will take part in the NBA Combine, which will be important for him in making his decision.
Martin is the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year. He averaged 18.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. The points were the third most in the conference last season.
Martin is an improved shooter, as he knocked down 100 3-pointers in the Wolfpack’s frenetic offense. He connected at a 40.6 percent clip, an improvement over his first two collegiate seasons at North Carolina State. The versatility he has offensively will be intriguing to teams, as Martin can score from anywhere on the court.

Martin does a little bit of everything and has good size at 6’7 and 195 pounds. However, he lacks elite athleticism, which could hurt him defensively depending on where he is asked to play. Given their style of play and small rotation, Martin played a lot of forward in college. If he is going to play power forward in the NBA, he needs to improve his strength and size. If he is asked to play on the perimeter, his athleticism will need to improve.
Martin’s skill set will get him looks for the second round. A solid showing at the NBA Combine would go a long way for Martin improving his chances to get drafted. He took major steps forward after transferring to Nevada, something teams will take notice of.
