The Bottom Line

While it would be nice to add superstar players through free agency or through trades, nothing is more satisfying than being able to manufacture a championship team from within.

I have enough faith in this young core that I would be comfortable putting the future of the franchise in their hands, putting the pressure on them to bring this team back to greatness. I believe all five of these players bring something unique to the table. If you put their talents together it will form into a real championship contender down the line.

I think that too much pressure is being put on teams to win now, and with the way teams such as the Golden State Warriors are constructed, I think that they will be a dominant force for years to come. I think the best thing that the Lakers can do right now is to be patient.

They have all the right pieces for a future championship team and I feel that if they continue to develop these young players and unleash them down the road when the Warriors are descending down the NBA mountain, because we all know it is going to happen eventually, it will be a better feeling for the Lakers as well as Laker Nation.

That they were able to ascend to the top of the NBA Mountain on the shoulders of their No. 2, No. 2, No. 7, No. 27, and No. 30 draft picks and didn’t have to rely upon the decision of another player to join this historic franchise would be a great feeling. My advice to Magic Johnson: Embrace The Young Core, they’re worth it!
