1. They need to keep their young core intact for the future
A few respected analysts ranked the best NBA players under the age of 25 earlier in the season, and the Lakers had four players that made an appearance on the lists. Randle, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram were all mentioned by at least one of the three analysts and that shows how they are viewed positively around the league.
If the Lakers apparently have so much talent in their early twenties, then it would be foolish to break up what they created over time to chase a rapid rebuild. They have built this team through the draft with lottery picks and that has been the one bright spot to look at the past few seasons in Los Angeles.
Not re-signing Randle would be symbolic of them giving up on their entire rebuilding process that they have sold the franchise’s fanbase on.
Even Kobe Bryant said earlier this month that the Lakers should try to “keep building the team organically,” rather than trying to hit big in free agency. When a Laker legend of his stature makes a suggestion they almost always listen, especially since general manager Rob Pelinka is his former agent.

The young Lakers have built an exciting chemistry and seemed to have bonded last season, so they should give that time to manifest success. The latest rumors also suggest that Randle is reportedly happy to be in Los Angeles, so it is just up to the team to make it happen.
