Thomas Bryant dominated the G League

The Lakers lone second-round draft pick might not be a household name just yet, but he played very well in the G League this past season. In 37 games with the South Bay Lakers, he averaged 19.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks.

He played well enough to be in consideration for a roster spot next season and could play a big role moving forward if they do not re-sign Brook Lopez.

Bryant can make an impact on both sides of the ball. He is a great rim protector on defense and on offense, he can finish with the best of them and can also knock down an open jump shot. With a name like Bryant, he is bound to have success in a Laker uniform.

It is crazy to think that Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson had that much success in their first draft running the Lakeshow front office. As long as they all stay healthy and there are no sophomore slumps, then the entire 2017 class will play a huge role for the team next season.

However, the only way they will truly be the best rookie class in Laker history is if they all continue to improve their game, because they could easily be one-year wonders. Hopefully, the 2018 draft class can rival this past season, but without a pick in the lottery that is highly unlikely.
