2. Lonnie Walker, SG, University of Miami

If Lonnie Walker is somehow still available by the time the Lakers pick at 25, this would be an absolute steal like the Lakers stole Kyle Kuzma in last year’s draft.

Walker doesn’t necessarily have the stats to prove it, averaging 11.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and just under two assists, but Walker has shown signs that he can be great.

Walker can create his own shot, which is huge for a player coming into the NBA. He is very explosive and very athletic. If he gets in front of the rim, you can forget about it as he will finish strong at the rim.

Now, Walker has a hard time creating for others but that’s okay. He will be playing alongside the likes of Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart, in addition to whoever the Lakers land in free agency, so this fits Walker’s game quite beautifully.

In fact, many view Walker as another Donovan Mitchell type of player that teams will regret passing up. A mistake like that may even cause people to lose their jobs. Stan Van Gundy and Steve Clifford are feeling that right now after passing Mitchell up.
