1. Wichita State PG, Landry Shamet

Wichita State point guard Landry Shamet decided to forgo his final season of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft. Shamet is entering the draft off a strong season and could be in play for the Lakers at both No. 25 and No. 47.

The workout process will be an important one for Shamet. He could sneak into the backend of the first round if he performs well. The areas of concern for him are his athleticism and defense. Shamet struggles against quicker guards and the step up in competition from the Missouri Valley Conference to American Athletic Conference exposed him at times.

The lack of explosiveness will be evident at the next level, but there is enough to like about him that he can overcome it. For starters, he is a knockdown shooter. Shamet made 43.7 percent of his 3-point attempts in college and shot 48 percent overall. His 81.1 percent from the foul line is also strong.

Shamet has a high basketball IQ. He is a solid playmaker, averaging 5.2 assists per game this past season. He also has great size, standing 6’4”. Given his shooting ability and good size, he can play off the ball some. That versatility is key and could help cover for some of his deficiencies.

Shamet is a steady hand at point guard. He won’t blow you away but gets the job done. He is someone that will be on the Lakers radar as a combo guard that can help improve their 3-point shooting.
