14. player. 73. . Shooting Guard. Miami. Lonnie Walker Jr.

The Denver Nuggets have been shopping this pick throughout the offseason, hoping to attach it to Kenneth Faried. If they do not trade the selection, adding one of the higher upside backcourt players in Lonnie Walker Jr. would make for a good selection.

Walker has all the of physical tools you want in a shooting guard. He has the size and athleticism that teams covet. However, he is still raw. He will need time to develop to reach his potential that a team will take a chance on in the lottery.

Walker’s stats won’t jump off the page, as he averaged a modest 11.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. However, his immense potential is what teams will be drawn to. He has a good foundation to build upon and has a very high ceiling. A meniscus tear leading into his freshman season at Miami hindered him some, but he showed the tools to become a solid player at the next level.

Walker needs to work on his consistency on both ends of the court and Denver could provide him that chance. Walker would have a chance to develop behind Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Malik Beasley.
