There is a lot of conversation surrounding this selection. The Cavaliers are shopping it in hopes of convincing LeBron James to stay in Cleveland. If they are able to convince LeBron to stay, and hold onto their draft pick, nabbing Mikal Bridges would be a smart move.

The Villanova forward is one of the most NBA-ready players in the NBA. He is the prototypical 3-and-D player and would fit in excellently in the Cavaliers system. If the Cavaliers convince James to remain with the team, they will need players that can contribute right away at a high level and Bridges would be capable.

Bridges helped Villanova win two national titles, so he is battle tested for high-pressure situations. Playing on a team with James is one of the most pressure filled environments for a player in the NBA, but that should not phase Bridges.

Bridges is already an established defender and strong 3-point shooter. He mad 43.5 percent of his attempts from deep last season. He has a burgeoning offensive game and plays within himself.

While he may not have as high of a ceiling as some of the other players in the lottery, he is arguably the safest selection in the draft.
