Center. Texas A&M. Robert Williams. 27. player. 18.

It was a challenging season for the Boston Celtics in terms of injuries, but they were nearly able to make the NBA Finals without their two best players. Injuries to Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward looked like they would cripple the Celtics, but shockingly they were one win away from winning the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics have done a nice job of building a solid young core in the NBA Draft and have brought in some talented free agents. Getting healthy will be the most important thing for the Celtics next season, but they were still able to add a talented big man at the end of the first round in Robert Williams.

Williams had a bit of a fall in the first round, as he was projected to be close to a lottery pick. Getting Williams will provide the Celtics with a very athletic big man to play behind Al Horford.

While Williams is very athletic for his size, he does have some learning to do in order to become a better basketball player. However, he will be going to a great situation in Boston with one of the top coaches in the NBA. Despite his fall in the draft, this is a good pick for the Celtics this late.
