– Make the All-Star team
This goal might be the biggest longshot for Ingram, but it is certainly possible. While making the All-Star team as a rookie and second-year player is tough, a third-year player has a better chance with his name on the map a bit more.
With LeBron now on the Lakers, all eyes will be on the Lakers throughout the season. While this means that the pressure will be on for the team, it will also give players like Ingram more national exposure.
Having big games against some of the best teams in the NBA on national television is a great way for a young player to make his case for the All-Star team. Last season, Ingram had some good moments on big stages. In a great game against the Golden State Warriors, Ingram went toe-to-toe with Kevin Durant and performed very well. In that loss, Ingram totaled 32 points and looked like an All-Star.
Being more consistent in his third season will certainly help Ingram’s quest for his first All-Star team. While the Western Conference is loaded with stars, Ingram could be a player that is on the doorstep of becoming an All-Star. With the Lakers being a much better team this season, that will only help Ingram’s case.
