3. Veteran leadership
Coming into the offseason, the Lakers had a distinct plan on what they wanted to accomplish and the type of player they were looking for. One of the characteristics they were looking for was veterans, and Crawford would fit that bill as well.
Crawford is entering his 19th year in the NBA. He has a wealth of knowledge that he can share with the younger players on the Lakers roster. Ball handling is one of the areas that Crawford excels in. He is one of the best ball handlers in the NBA. Working with him could do wonders for a player such as Josh Hart.
The second-year guard out of Villanova had ball handling as one of the things that he wanted to work on this offseason. Crawford could certainly help him in that area.
Crawford has also picked up some playoff experience in recent years, playing in 74 total playoff games in his career. With a roster so young, any added playoff experience around them would be beneficial.
