In recent Los Angeles Lakers news, LeBron James is fully embracing the L.A.Bron monicker.
There has been positive Los Angeles Lakers news recently as their players put in work as much off the court as on it. Kyle Kuzma is trying to improve his hometown of Flint, Michigan. Now, LeBron James is once again making headlines.
LeBron James will be must-see TV every time he steps on the basketball court (Especially September 30th when the Los Angeles Lakers play the Denver Nuggets in the first preseason game!). Soon all of his Hollywood projects will have the potential to do the same when he is off of it.
I’ve voiced my opinions about LeBron James being the best player in basketball…
Los Angeles Lakers: What LeBron James being voted NBA’s top player means
Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James has been voted the NBA's top player for the sixth straight year. What does that designation mean for him?
But, there is no player in NBA even in the stratosphere that can get near him when it comes to a suit and tie. This man should be in the dictionary AND thesaurus on how to be a businessman and an athlete.
We hear so many nightmare stories about athletes going broke after they retire. LeBron James can teach a class on how to turn your money over and make it stack. Why doesn’t he just open a business school for former athletes? Knowing James, he might already have that on his post-retirement bucket list.
The one thing LeBron James is known to do is make decisions that are best for him and his family. He mentioned it in his move to Miami and his return to Cleveland. Now his entertainment business, SpringHill Entertainment and Uninterrupted, his social media platform, now has a prominent spot on the list.
James and his partner Maverick Carter have made very good use of their time shopping projects to seemingly every big studio and network.
Seems to be working too. Did anyone tell LeBron James that training camp is coming up next week?
A couple of weeks ago Lake Show Life shined the light on his HBO project called “The Shop”,
LeBron James Adds Talk Show Host to His Resume!
LeBron James comes to LA and puts the Lakers on the map. LeBron James comes to LA to put his TV projects on the map. Can he? Ronald Agers checks it out!
A show that would be shot in various barbershops around the country with special guests talking about random topics, sports related or not.
About a year ago, you would just hear movies like House Party coming back or Space Jam 2. No one really took it seriously, right? Especially when Blake Griffin replaced LeBron James in the mouth of fans.
Well, if the two projects for NBC don’t show you that LeBron James has the potential to be the biggest African-American entertainment mogul since…not Shonda Rhimes, but BET founder and former Charlotte Bobcats owner Robert L. Johnson. The rate James is going, owning a major network could be in the cards down the line…
Especially if he continues to make deals like these with NBC courtesy of Deadline via Awful Announcing…training camp is next week right?
"The network has given a script commitment plus penalty to basketball-themed drama Hoops, from writer Jennifer Cecil (Notorious), LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment, Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions, and Warner Bros. Television where both SpringHill and Brownstone are based.NBC also recently gave a script commitment plus penalty to Brotherly Love, a single-camera comedy from 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons, James and his SpringHill Entertainment as well as writer Kourtney Kang.In Hoops, after years on the road as both a star player and coach in the WNBA, Stevie Decker jumps at the chance to return to her alma mater to become the first female head coach of a men’s college basketball team. But coming home isn’t easy as her career took a toll on her family, and the school she loves is embroiled in a sex scandal involving her mentor, a legendary former coach."
Please read the part where the quote says script commitment plus penalty part. What does that mean? You ask…
That means that NBC is committed to a certain amount of scripts to both shows. If these shows don’t make air (Count on at least one to make air…more than likely both) NBC STILL HAS TO PAY! As the Executive Producer to these shows, LeBron James will turn a profit in this business deal no matter what.
Training camp is next week…right?
It does seem that LeBron James is geared up and excited about the project hoops…

This being greenlit right along with Brotherly Love, a show that was shared by Kenneth Teape.
Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron James producing show based on Ben Simmons
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James is wasting no time in using the advantages of Hollywood, as he will be producing a show based on Ben Simmons.
It’s not hard to miss that he has the charm and personality to play the Hollywood game. How many athletes do you know can go on the Ellen show and hold his own talking next to Channing Tatum?
They both were on the show to promote the animated film Smallfoot due out in theaters September 28th. They all joked about the comparison in dancing styles, their daughters and their parenting experiences. LeBron even set Ellen and Channing up on a date to go to a Lakers game together.
LeBron and Channing even played a game to help raise funds for James’ new school “I Promise” based off James’ Facebook show (Yeah, he has one on Facebook too!) Do or Dare. That show wrapped its first season in February!
Some of the dares included…
Drinking a shot of tequila with no hands.
Licking a Kiwi blindfolded and guessing right.
Eating a combination of hot sauce and vanilla ice cream (Kids…please study hard!)
After the fun, Walmart donated $100,000 dollars to the I Promise school in Akron.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the best one in my opinion out of the bunch. It is a docuseries on STARZ called Warriors of Liberty City. It is based on a youth football league in Miami.
Lake Show Lifers, it is great. The league is founded by 2 Live Crew rapper and founder Luke Campbell. It is a must see. I haven’t missed an episode.
If you loved the 30 for 30 series covering the Miami Hurricanes (Really can’t see how a sports fan wouldn’t those were one of the best documentaries) you will love this docuseries.
Remember all that “Shut up and Dribble” talk? That documentary airs in October.
Okay LeBron with all of the things you have going on in your budding empire, you can now relax.
Training camp is next week right?
