Los Angeles Lakers: 4 questions the team will hear on media day
2. What does Magic Johnson have to say about everything?
Its been more than two months now since the Los Angeles Lakers signed LeBron James and then followed it up with the rest of the free agent deals that rounded out the roster.
Since then, we’ve got plenty of sound bytes from Luke Walton, Rob Pelinka, and the rest of the Lakers’ roster on when they found out about the seismic acquisition, how they felt about it, and how they were feeling on the upcoming season. One individual who hasn’t been available to the media to give his take on the whole thing was the man who personally met with LeBron to sign him, Mr. Magic Johnson.
The last time Magic was talking to the media actually, he was saying if he didn’t bring the Lakers back to the top of the league in the next two years, he would quit and Jeanie Buss wouldn’t have to fire him.
While the comments made Buss nervous, it’s safe to say his job is safe now since he brought in the greatest player in the NBA. We’ve heard details regarding Magic’s late night trip to LeBron’s house to have a nearly 3-hour meeting about the team and life in general. We haven’t heard much from the man himself though, aside from his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live where he was mostly talking about the situation in a broad, humorous sense.
It’ll be nice to hear about the specific things they talked about then and what they’ve discussed since the signing if Magic is willing to share those things with the media.
