1. Qualify for the Postseason

This is ultimately the most important goal of the season and is a product of the other three goals.

IF the young core continues to develop as hoped, and
IF the rest of the players integrate well with LeBron, and
IF the Lakers improve their defense… then there’s every reason to expect the team will qualify for the playoffs for the first time in five years, even in the highly-competitive Western Conference.

Ultimately, Laker management, players and fans all expect more than simply finishing in the top 8. But getting some post season experience is necessary for the growth of the young core, and a positive step towards the future.
