– Win 6th Man of the Year
Even though Kuzma has the skills and talent to be a starter, the Lakers will likely have him coming off the bench once again this season. While Kuzma did start at times last year, he was primarily a bench player last season. In 77 games, Kuzma came off the bench in 40 of them, and with the addition of LeBron James, we will likely see Kuzma coming off the bench once again.
While he might not be starting, Kuzma will certainly see extended minutes off the bench for the Lakers. Due to his ability to score in multiple ways, Kuzma can be a real spark plug for the Lakers off the bench next season.
Whether it be Lonzo Ball or Rajon Rondo coming off the bench with him, Kuzma will have a really talented point guard on the second unit with him. Kuzma and Ball certainly have great chemistry and Rondo is a pass-first guard that will make sure Kuzma gets the ball in good spots.
Since the Lakers are expected to be in the playoffs this season, Kuzma being their leading scorer off the bench should put him right in the mix for Sixth Man of the Year considerations. If he is indeed coming off the bench this season, Kuzma has a very good chance to win this award.
