2. What kind of offense will the Los Angeles Lakers run?

"The Los Angeles Lakers plan to play positionless basketball. So? What does that mean?  The Lakers have built a roster that can play multiple positions. Great, but that does not mean that there is a concrete system put together for these players. A goal without a plan ain’t nothing but a wish. Every team states that they want to run and this team is included the list. But there are more aspects to a running team than saying…”I want to run”. Even Showtime had a method to it’s madness."

Aftermath

Nothing changed after the game. Two things had better happen for the Los Angeles Lakers…quick! Lonzo Ball had better get back quick because the Lakers need two point guards on this roster, and Rajon Rondo had better not get hurt.

Rajon Rondo had 11 assists in the game against two turnovers. That’s all well and good, but he had only two points. The Lakers will have to get scoring from the point guard spot. With Rondo not even looking at the basket (He only had three attempts) opponents are going to pack it in and clog lanes, which happened at times in the game.

Offensively, there was no continuity needed to compete. It’s not that the Lakers did not try to run and implement a system. It just shows that the Lakers have a lot of work to do. Lance Stephenson even got a chance to play the point guard slot.

Lots of turnovers folks, a lot of them as a team 26 turnovers is a ton for any team, new or not. If the point guard situation is not dealt for 48 minutes in a regular season game, guess who’s waiting in the wings to take it over…wild guess!
