– Brandon Ingram

One of the key players for the Lakers this coming season will be Brandon Ingram. As arguably the best player of the young core right now, Ingram has been tasked with the responsibility of becoming the second option to LeBron James on the Lakers.

This responsibility is a big one for Ingram. With teams likely focusing heavily on LeBron to start the season, Ingram will have to be able to make plays. Last season, Ingram took a huge step forward from his rookie year, as he averaged 16.1 points per game.

The Lakers will likely be asking Ingram to take another step forward this season with James on the team, as he clearly has the potential to be an All-Star player very soon. In the preseason, Ingram was able to show some of that potential with some great games. With a 31-point night against the Kings and a 26-point night against the Warriors, Ingram certainly has the potential to score over 20 points a game. However, his consistency is something that must improve this season.

As we head into the regular season, hopefully Ingram will be able to build off some strong games in the preseason and carry it over to the regular season opener.
