Los Angeles Lakers Tip #2…Luke Walton needs to put guys on the floor who will “D” UP!

You know something, let’s just cut to the chase. Find a way to get Lance Stephenson and Lonzo Ball on the floor at the SAME time to stop somebody. Luke Walton will need to tighten up the rotation anyway because everyone has lost their rhythm thanks to his bad substitution patterns.

The easy way to figure it out…why not use your best defenders?

Lance Stephenson for the last two games has been watching most of the 4th quarters on the bench while the Spurs and Wolves have run roughshod though the Lakers defense.

I mean it’s not like this happened two or three months ago! The evidence was shown to Walton like LAST WEEK! Did he forget? I didn’t…

Did anybody else?…

Bottom line, Luke Walton is going to have to make some decisions and live with the consequences. Lance Stephenson has played out of his mind during the suspensions of Ingram and Rondo and deserves the minutes in crunch time. Why? Because he is competing on BOTH ends of the floor. It is obvious that Lance and Lonzo has the chemistry and they play well off of each other. Something that is not happening with Rondo on the floor.

I have noticed when the rebounds are being corralled, Rondo is calling for the ball. NO this does not work for this system. He needs to take off running and run a lane to put pressure on the defense. Something that Lonzo does more of.

To be clear here, I get Ingram and Rondo needs to be part of the rotation. But I also know that if they are not doing their part on the defensive end, these two can sit down and watch the two players that have shown the ability to close out games. I mean they closed out the only two games the Lakers won this season…Coincidence?

NO! The final tip will be a shocker folks!!! Get ready…it won’t be pretty!
