2. LeBron James has not lived up to his end of the bargain!!!
Analytics is a major part of the NBA and how teams are constructed. It also can be manipulated because fans can look at just the stats in a box score and think a player had a good game.
LeBron James has got this practice down to a science.
He is a major reason why this team is struggling coming out of the gate. There were four things that LeBron James had to do for this team to be successful…
Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Hot takes for LeBron James in 2018-19
LeBron James begins a new era with the Los Angeles Lakers tomorrow night on the road against Portland.
For the record, he is 0-4. Remember how this team was supposed to be constructed? The plan was for LeBron James to go down to the post and allow the playmakers that were acquired to handle the ball and take some of the responsibility from James.
How long did James go along with this plan? Not long.
Now you see James and Rondo running the point while the back line was left exposed. You see James was supposed to use that famous basketball I.Q. to usher in the positionless basketball scheme which is the new wave of the NBA.
The only problem is that James never wants to play the four or the five and his defense has been taking a nosedive for years. He wants the ball in his hands and he will play the position that is comfortable for him. The wing.
What makes LeBron James the biggest culprit here is the fact that Walton had no chance of getting a shot to coach without James’ undermining.
It’s so interesting that LeBron James is always compared to Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. These two players win titles for a reason. They get coached. LeBron James puts off a bit of a feeling that he is above coaching.
Curry is on his way to yet another MVP, which LeBron James will blame on the fact that he has less talent. But it’s not that.
Curry allows people to coach him. I mean he brought Steve Nash to work with his efficiency. What MVP do you know does that? He changed his workout regiments and allows people to critique him.
If LeBron James did that, his defense wouldn’t be so porous. You think the young players are not paying attention to all of this? Why should they take criticism from a coach that ignores LeBron’s shortcomings? This Brandon Ingram hasn’t noticed? Remember he went to Duke? Coach K? Accountability?
He’s been bad but he has company on the roster as why Luke has issues…
