Role Player Grades

Los Angeles Lakers. KYLE KUZMA. B+. Kyle Kuzma was just as important as Brandon Ingram and LeBron James in this win. The Flint product finished the night with 21 points on 53.3 percent shooting and 57.1 percent from deep.
Kuz was huge down the stretch with a clutch 3-pointer that gave the Lakers a seven-point lead with 90 seconds left in the game. Unfortunately, he was quiet on the boards with only two rebounds.

Kuzma has proved he is a scorer in today’s NBA, but we hope he can prove he is a rebounder for Laker fans too.
. PF

A+. Mr. Hustle was back at it again. Josh Hart was by far the best Lakers player for the night. The former NCAA champion finished the night with 21 points in 21 minutes!
As if that is not astonishing enough, all of Hart’s field goal makes and attempts were three-pointers – in which he shot 71.4 percent! Still not impressed? He did not miss any free throws and made both game-sealing free throws!

Hart is the heart of this team. Regardless of if he starts or comes off the bench, Josh’s hustle and activity on both ends are unmatchable and a huge asset to the Lakers.
. SG. Los Angeles Lakers. JOSH HART

TYSON CHANDLER. A-. The Compton-born player made his Lakers debut and came to play. Chandler only played 23 minutes but was one rebound shy from leading in team rebounds – nine for the night.
He did not fill in any defensive stats, but his presence was definitely felt. Moreover, his rebound security allowed for the Lakers to run much more on the break.

It is only one game, but the addition looks great. We just hope Tyson can add more than two points.
. C.
