2. JaVale McGee
He leads the Lakers in almost every defensive advanced stat and he’s second only to LeBron in almost every offensive advanced stat. Dude’s been crushing it. He’s averaging over 2.5 blocks per game and he’s probably altering another seven shots per game. He’s definitely in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year.
JaVale runs the court hard in transition and he’s a monster in the pick-and-roll. He doesn’t take defensive plays off and his energy on defense makes me smile while I watch the Lakers play. Thanks, JaVale!
1. LeBron James
Could it be anyone else? LeBron is 2nd in the NBA in points per game at 28.6, he’s the 3rd in the NBA in PER at 28.62, and he’s 3rd in the NBA in RPM at 5.95.
Where would the Lakers be without LeBron? Probably 14th in the Western Conference. No player in the NBA can change a team the way LeBron does. He’s the 1st quarter MVP of the league.
