Carmelo Anthony is not coming to Los Angeles

I can’t say this one did not hurt…

Number one, I am a huge fan of Carmelo Anthony and I am holding out hope that he will go out better than the cliff the Houston Rockets threw him off of…

Number two…I really thought that LeBron James was going to use his influence to bring one of his best friends in at least to help him save face. I believed that he could help the Lakers with his talents, but he cannot help the Lakers in their offensive schemes like Trevor Ariza can. Especially after the catastrophic collapse in Houston this year. Ariza is a standstill shooter, Anthony is not.

Carmelo Anthony will take the blame for the downfall and the failure of the experiment that lasted 11 games, but the real reason why the Rockets are so bad is because Ariza took his $15 million dollar deal and left town. When Trevor left, the defensive identity left town with him. The Rockets tried to shine up the mistake by bringing in Carmelo Anthony to make themselves look good.

When the Lakers started the season 2-5, the reason was solely based on defense. The Lakers couldn’t stop anyone, they were at the bottom of the NBA in defense efficiency. With the acquisition of Tyson Chandler, the Lakers have improved in leaps and bounds.

Carmelo Anthony still has something in the tank, no matter what the “experts” say. However with this possible move for Trevor Ariza, I don’t think he’ll get to prove it in Los Angeles. It just won’t work.

Speaking of Tyson Chandler…
