LeBron James kept things in order…then took the game over

LeBron James did his thing missing a triple-double by one rebound, but it was “Money Time” as he likes to call it where he impressed the most.

With the Lakers down 96-90 and the Heat looking like they could slide in the Staples Center and steal a victory. LeBron James went nuclear and willed the Lakers past Miami with his own personal run.

First, he knocked down a huge three from the left-wing.

Then he did this…

Here he took a pick from Lonzo Ball at the free throw line and took off and it looked like he was going to do a finger roll, but changed his mind and turned it over for a slam dunk!

After that he kept the pressure on and drove the lane and kicked the ball to Kyle Kuzma for a 3 pointer from the right-wing.

After hitting one more shot from deep, he had completed a Lakers 11-2 run and the lead held until the end.

One thing I have noticed from LeBron James this year is that he has really turned it on when the Lakers are the featured game of the night. This game was hyped up with the end of an era with the retirement of Wade. Plenty of stars came out to watch. Let’s just say LeBron did not disappoint…

He hit Justise Winslow with the “Smitty” move and dunked on him…

This one was interesting because when Winslow was being interviewed at halftime, he seemed really miffed saying that Heat players needed to stay connected and communicate. Let’s just say they weren’t connected on this play.

This one was actually funny as well…

The NBA TV crew was making jokes that Kelly Olynyk reminded them of a guy that played in the YMCA because he was so methodical with his play. After this move, everyone in the Staples Center could have started singing YMCA by the Village People. It was fun to say and watch as LeBron James walked it off after the dunk!

Let’s be clear here, LeBron James is going to have to figure out a way to shoot better from the free throw line. Hitting 4-8 from the line can get you past the Miami Heat but this team is being built as of this writing for a playoff run. To his credit, he knocked down two big free throws at the end. But this is not a good look…

We have another star in the making here…
