Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Lessons from the loss to the Brooklyn Nets
By Ronald Agers
LeBron James did well…It was just not enough
LeBron James filled up the stat sheet like Christmas stockings against Brooklyn last night. LeBron James was two assists shy from another triple-double scoring 36 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists.
What I liked out of LeBron James was he was aggressive on the offensive end. He didn’t shoot well from the 3 point line (2-7) but he didn’t live out there trying to shoot his way into rhythm. Time after time, he put pressure on the defense. On this drive he actually brought the circus to town…
As we see here, LeBron fills the lane and receives the pass from Kyle Kuzma. James then drives hard and tries to do a spin move to shoot the lay-up. Give Rondae Hollis-Jefferson credit, he tried to pull the chair out from under LeBron which left James off-balance. It didn’t matter however as LeBron still had the presence of mind to know where he was and finish the play and draw the foul.
Then there is always this…
LeBron takes the ball coast-to-coast after grabbing the rebound and hit Jared Dudley with a serious hesitation move with a cross-over dribble and throwing the ball down with a nasty dunk. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson did not have the chance to pull the chair out on this one!
One final thing about LeBron James.
We can all have our opinions about how LeBron James plays on the court. Sometimes he plays well, sometimes he doesn’t. But the one thing he does know is how the business works as a NBA player.
LeBron James could have easily stormed off the court after a bad road trip, did his interviews and got ready to get on the plane. However he stopped to do this…
The man is a businessman folks. He just gets it.
