Please pray for Michael Beasley and his family in a tough time

Lets all take a second and close our eyes and give our thoughts and prayers to Michael Beasley and his family. Beasley’s mother died after a battle with cancer. Not many knew about what Beasley was going through when he was leaving the team for certain periods for a “personal matter”.

Information started coming out when the Lakers traveled to Washington DC to play the Washington Wizards…

Here’s and explanation from Dave McMenamin from ESPN…

I said it in this piece and it bears repeating…I am proud of the Los Angeles Lakers and Michael Beasley. This was not an easy situation on either side.

"This is another reason why the Los Angeles Lakers are a class organization. For them to allow Beasley to keep his roster spot and give him time to take care of his mother shows real class. It also shows the talent and professionalism Beasley has to stay engaged and play hard when called upon. It would have been easy for Beasley to drift from the team with all that is going on with his mother, coupled with no consistent minutes. On the other hand, the Lakers could have easily bought him out and gone in another direction. This is a feel good story that even though the Lakers lost, should make everyone realize that sometimes it’s bigger than basketball."

It is devastating to lose a family member in any circumstance, but to lose your mother right before Christmas? Can’t even imagine…

Sorry for your loss, Beas! We’ll all be waiting for you when you get back! When you do, let’s get your Mama that playoff run for a championship!
