6. LeBron James’s MVP push

Three weeks ago LeBron was the clear MVP of the league, but now he’s got some competition.

James Harden is dragging an injury-riddled and lifeless Houston Rockets team into the playoffs by himself. Stephen Curry is having one of the greatest offensive seasons ever. Kawhi Leanard is averaging 27 PPG to go along with 8.5 RPG for a Raptors team is the best in the league right now. Giannis Antetokounmpo is doing Giannis things.

Even though Kevin Durant seems to hate everyone and everything he’s still putting up MVP caliber numbers for the Warriors (Please note: I didn’t even mention Russell “I’m still averaging a triple-double” Westbrook, Paul “I’m better than Westbrook” George, and Nikola Jokic).

This is going to be one of the best MVP races ever. What’s it going to take for LeBron to win the MVP award? Do the Lakers have to finish with at least the 2nd best record out west for LeBron to even be considered for the honor? Who’s going to win MVP?

It’s going to be really exciting to see how things shake out around the league and how every team’s record affects the MVP vote.
