5. Josh Hart

2018-19 per game stats: 9.6 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 1.5 APG, 1.2 SPG, .418 FG%, .359 3P%

VORP: 0.6, 4th on the Lakers

WS: 1.8, 5th on the Lakers

DEFRTG (last 10 games, minimum 15 minutes per game): 101.1, 4th on the Lakers

OFFRTG (last 10 games, minimum 15 minutes per game): 98.6, 9th on the Lakers

MOET: 7

Over the last 10 games, Josh Hart has been a sneakily awful shooter. He’s hitting a miserable 39% of his field goals and he’s connecting on just 33% of his 3-point shots on six attempts per game.

I’m going to give Josh the benefit of the doubt on his field goal percentage, though, because for some reason the refs all got together and decided that he was the chosen one this year. What is the chosen one? The chosen one is the player who gets hacked the most in the NBA while driving down the lane but never gets a whistle.

Josh Hart is a great player, whose ranked 35th in the NBA in Defensive Rating (minimum 15 minutes per game) over the last 10 games. His shot’s been off of late, but hopefully, when LeBron and eventually Rondo come back, he’ll start to get some better looks, which will help his shot start to fall again.
