– Elite scoring potential
One of the top reasons why Kuzma should be untouchable in trades is because of the elite scoring potential that he possesses. In the NBA, scoring has become more prevalent than ever. Fans love to see points and that is the way that the game is going, as there isn’t a lot of defense on most nights
As a rookie, Kuzma was one of the best scorers in the class. Averaging over 15 points per game in your first NBA season is not an easy thing to do, and he was able to accomplish that. So far in his second season, Kuzma is averaging just under 19 points per game. Seeing a noticeable jump in his scoring average going into to his second season is really encouraging, as he has avoided the sophomore slump.
In a recent game against the Detroit Pistons, Kuzma showed that elite scoring potential by dropping 41 points in just three quarters. If not for the game being a blowout, Kuzma might have reached the 50-point plateau, which would have been a remarkable achievement for a second-year NBA player.
More than likely, any potential trade for a superstar would require giving up Kuzma. However, if the Lakers are patient, he has the potential to be a great scorer in the NBA for years to come.
