– Ivica Zubac

With the changes to the starting lineup recently, the Lakers saw a switch at the center position. Tyson Chandler took over for JaVale McGee in the starting lineup, and so far the Lakers are 2-0 since the switch. In the win against the Thunder, Chandler totaled six points and seven rebounds in 16 minutes. However, he was on the court for much of that slow start for the Lakers.

While McGee did see minutes off the bench like against the Bulls, it was instead Ivica Zubac who played the most minutes at center. In a tough matchup against Steven Adams, Zubac had one of the best games of his career.

In the win, Zubac recorded a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Zubac was extremely efficient on the floor, as he missed just two shots the entire game. Considering the tough matchup, this was a really strong showing for Zubac. While the Lakers might not want to mess with the starting lineup after winning their last two games, Zubac is certainly earning some more minutes.

With all three centers being capable players for the Lakers, it’s a good problem to have for Luke Walton. However, the great performance from Zubac might be moving him into a little bit bigger of a role soon.
